Mansfield managing director Keith Haslam will not attend any more games at Field Mill following fan protests.
Haslam has become unpopular with sections of the Mansfield fans, who believe he is dragging his feet over attempts to sell the club, the four supporters' groups threatening a new protest this weekend.
"Keith and I had a discussion shortly after the Chesterfield match and agreed that it would be in the best interests of the football club if he did not attend any more home games," non-executive chairman James Derry admitted.
"A protest on Saturday may be disturbing for the players and it would be much more useful if everyone concentrated on getting behind the team.
"I have no reason to believe that Keith doesn't want to sell the club. His advisors are actively looking to sell."
Mansfield lie second bottom of League Two.
