The Swede has impressed during his month-loan stint at Pride Park, but is due to head back to Craven Cottage this week.

Clough is keen to retain the services of Stoor and is planning talks with his Cottagers counterpart Roy Hodgson once the defender's eye injury picked up against QPR eases.

"His eye is completely closed," said Clough.

"If you have seen the Rocky films, you'll know what I mean.

"He has a good black eye and there was no way he could continue but we are looking to extend his loan."
