Sven-Goran Eriksson's former assistant Hans Backe has confirmed he will have talks with Notts County regarding the vacant managerial post at the Coca-Cola League Two club.
Eriksson, director of football at Meadow Lane, is leading the search for Ian McParland's successor after County sacked the Scot this month.
Backe, who like Eriksson was on the shortlist to become the next head coach of the Sweden national team, has spent much of his managerial career in Scandinavia and has won four Danish titles with FC Copenhagen and Aalborg.
Asked if his move to Meadow Lane was finalised, he told www.fotbollskanalen.se, "No, but everything suggests that will be the case.
"I fly to England on Monday afternoon and will meet with Notts County and read through the contract. If everything is sorted out, I will take over immediately.
"I've been thinking about it and came to the conclusion that I prefer to be a club coach. I have experience from the time in Mexico that you only have training every six weeks."

Yes you're right Life. Who is this guy? Sven making sure he is top dog I see.
Wow, I'm certainly glad that the article has said what Backe has done - I've never heard of him before. I hope he negotiates a good "termination" clause cause I can't see him doing anything here . . .
I've never done anything in English football - well i did coach a school side in Mansfield once - perhaps they can give me the job - at least I know where most of the other sides play and I can follow a sat nav on the team coach, I'm cheap and they can sack me with a good pay off which will make my pension fund and the club will still be quids in - less than the Sol episode!!
