Jonas Olsson has spoken about his part in a heated exchange with a small number of West Brom fans following Saturday`s goalless draw at Coventry.
The Swedish centre-back went over to show his appreciation to more than 4,000 Albion supporters who travelled to the Ricoh Arena but he soon became embroiled in a row as some frustrated fans shared their views on the result and the club`s recent slump in form.
Olsson told the club`s official website: "It was nothing really. There are always a few who say things and it`s understandable that there was disappointment because we - the players - were not happy.
"There was a bit of emotion from me after the game because I was as disappointed as the fans were after losing two points. In fact, there was no-one more disappointed than the 11 guys sitting in the dressing room.
"When I go over and applaud the fans they don`t have to applaud back but they also don`t have to make bad gestures, so I applauded 99.9% of them.
"I am very emotional after a game and it wasn`t a big thing for me and I hope it wasn`t a big thing for the supporters in question."
