A weekly look at the domestic fortunes of the British club's next Champions League opponents, with Arsenal's upcoming adversaries Sevilla crashing to another demoralising defeat.
Group A - Porto (away at Liverpool on Wednesday 28 November)
An early Lisandro Lopez goal - his tenth of the season so far - and a late strike from Ricardo Quaresma gave Porto all three points in a 2-0 win over Vitoria Setubal late on Sunday. The win maintained both the Portuguese champions' unbeaten run and their four point lead at the top of the Portuguese Super Liga.
Genclerbirligi 0-1 Besiktas
Marseille 3-1 Metz

Group B - Rosenborg (home to Chelsea on Wednesday 28 November)
With the Norwegian season already over, Rosenborg have not played since a 2-1 win over Aalesunds in their final game of the campaign. A fifth-place finish for the Blues' next opponents means they are not involved in post-season play-offs so they should be fresh for the visit of Avram Grant's side on Wednesday.
Racing 1-0 Valencia
Hannover 2-3 Schalke

Group D - Shakhtar Donetsk (away at Celtic on Wednesday 28 November)
Shakhtar were held to a shock 1-1 home draw by bottom club Naftovik on Saturday, although the result was not enough to knock them of the top of the Ukrainian Premier League, which they still lead by four points. But Mircea Lucescu's side had to come from behind to claim a point after Roman Karakevych opened the scoring for the visitors from the spot. Captain Dmitryo Chigrinski bailed out Shakhtar with a leveller on 28 minutes.
Academica Coimbra 1-3 Benfica
Cagliari 1-2 Milan

Group E - Stuttgart (home to Rangers on Tuesday 27 November)
Bad news for Rangers - Stuttgart are hitting form. The defending champions followed up their 3-1 victory against Bayern Munich with a come-from-behind 4-1 win at Frankfurt. Benjamin Koehler put the hosts ahead four minutes before halftime, only for Roberto Hilbert to start Stuttgart's recovery on 45 minutes. Romania striker Ciprian Marica put the Group E contenders ahead before Thomas Hitzlsperger netted a third and Cacau sealed victory in added time.
Rennes 0-2 Lyon
Barcelona 3-0 Recreativo de Huelva

Group F - Sporting (away to Manchester United on Tuesday 27 November)
A late Milan Purovic equaliser won Sporting a point in a 1-1 draw against Leixoes on Saturday as United's next opponents slipped up in the Portuguese Super Liga.
Arsenal Kiev 0-1 Dynamo Kiev
Genoa 0-1 Roma

Group H - Sevilla (home to Arsenal on Tuesday 27 November)
Real Mallorca surprised Sevilla at the Sanchez Pizjuan winning 2-1 thanks to first-half goals from Argentine Ariel Ibagaza and Fernando Varela. Sevilla pulled one back after the break from the head of Frederic Kanoute, but they were unable to complete the comeback despite Mallorca finishing with 10 men. Mallorca moved up to eighth with 19 points, while Sevilla stayed 10th with 15.
Steaua Bucurest 1-0 Dinamo Bucurest
Slavia Prague 0-0 Olomouc
