Premier League - Agent: Chimbonda staying

Eurosport - Wed, 26 Nov 13:37:00 2008

Pascal Chimbonda wants to stay at Sunderland and force his way back into the first-team reckoning, according to his agent.

FOOTBALL 2008/09 Premier League Sunderland defender Pascal Chimbonda - 0

The right-back - who signed a three-year deal in July when he joined for an undisclosed fee from Tottenham - has failed to figure in the Wearsiders' last four games.

The former Tottenham and Wigan defender has subsequently been linked with a move to Lyon in the January transfer window.

However, Willie McKay has insisted there has been no contact with the French champions, who last night booked their place in the last 16 of the Champions League with a 2-1 win at Fiorentina.

McKay told The Sun: "(Sunderland manager) Roy Keane picks the team but Pascal's quite happy at Sunderland and I believe he will stay in the Premier League."

  3. AJH what's a @#$% anyway. Look, I've got no love for Chimbonda, at best he's a decent player at worse he's a mercenary (see AJH, I don't have to "bleep" my descriptions out...you should try it sometime). He and his greedy agent (oxymoron there I reckon) are going to get theirs. The agent's moves on his clients behalf have done nothing to raise his stock, in fact its pretty much tanked at this point. Of course Lyon didn't put a bid in for him, why would they, they're in the business half of the CL, and they did it without him, sooooooo (you figure it out). Anyway, I don't miss him (Spurs), so good luck to Keane with him, its his problem now.
