Judd Trump will face surprise package Mark Joyce for a place in the main draw of the Masters after they both won their semi-finals at the qualifying competition in Sheffield.
Trump, who came to national prominence with his run to the semi-finals of Grand Prix earlier in the season, took another big scalp in his young career by beating former World Champion Ken Doherty 5-2.
The 19-year-old was 2-1 down early in the match but a break of 120 levelled matters before he rattled off three frames in a row for the victory.
Joyce meanwhile, showed nerves of steel to beat Matthew Stevens 5-4 in a long match.
Joyce, who has now played five matches in qualifying, was 4-1 up but it looked like his was gone to miss his chance when Stevens fought back to 4-4.
However, Joyce hung on for one of the biggest wins of his career and is now just one match away from Wembley.
As well as the one qualifying spot World Snooker will also offer up one wild card for the event.
It was a long day for those players in the semi-finals as the quarter-finals were played earlier in the day.
The Masters main event will run from January 11-18 and be held at the Wembley Arena.
