Blake to play in Brisbane

American James Blake has confirmed his participation in next year's Brisbane International, one of the key lead-up events to the Australian Open.

Blake will join Wimbledon finalist Andy Roddick in the men's draw for the January 3-10 tournament.

The women's draw includes US Open champion Kim Clijsters and her fellow Belgian Justine Henin.

Last year Radek Stepanek of the Czech Republic won the men's event while Victoria Azarenka of Belarus won the women's tournament.
