Colchester boss Geraint Williams insists he does not need to sign a left-back before the transfer deadline, despite missing out on Daniel Fox.The Us had a bid for the 21-year-old accepted by Walsall, but Fox rejected the chance to move to Layer Road in favour of Coventry, who he is set to join on Monday.
Williams told the club's website: "We were looking at Daniel because he was a left-back who could also play left-midfield and left-side centre-half.
"We are not solely looking at a left-back, we just felt that he had a number of things going for him, in terms of age, ability and potential to improve."
