Osasuna boss Jose Angel Ziganda was unable to contain his frustration after seeing his team slip to a late defeat at Sevilla on Saturday night.Ziganda hit out at the standard of refereeing following the match which saw Osasuna remain just one point above the relegation zone having now played a game more than all their rivals.
All the action came in the second half, with Sevilla taking the lead just after half-time through Christian Poulsen before Osasuna levelled the scores up with 20 minutes to go thanks to Kike Sola.
That looked set to be the way the game finished, even though Osasuna were reduced to 10 men following Josetxo's 87th-minute dismissal, but there was a late twist in the tale.
Osasuna midfielder Javi Garcia was adjudged to have handed the ball while under pressure from Sevilla forward Ernesto Chevanton and referee Eduardo Iturralde Gonzalez pointed to the spot.
Garcia subsequently became the second Osasuna player to be dismissed, and the visiting side's misery was compounded as Luis Fabiano slotted home the resulting penalty to earn Sevilla a 2-1 victory.
Ziganda was asked a number of questions about the officiating after the game, and he said: "There is a big problem. Every time that a team pressures the referee they (the referee) favour them, and that cannot be.
"I never say anything, but we have had seven or eight games in which they have been decisive and I'm sorry referees, I cannot (keep quiet) anymore."
Despite that and seeing his side fall to a 10th defeat of the season, Ziganda was still pleased with the way his team performed during the match at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan.
"I think the team has been quite good, they have competed with Sevilla, we had them on the ropes, we had some dangerous counter-attacks and we have seen how the game was decided," said Ziganda in Marca.
