Inverness player-manager Craig Brewster was not surprised to see Barry Robson lining up for Celtic against Barcelona in the Champions League.Robson's first start for Celtic since his move from Dundee United in January came in the 3-2 defeat by the Catalan giants last Wednesday.
Robson scored with a looping header, adding to a debut goal against Aberdeen earlier this month.
During his brief time in charge of United two years ago, Brewster watched Robson continue a development that eventually resulted in his £1.25million switch to Parkhead.
Brewster believes Robson has made the perfect start to his Celtic career, yet expected the 29-year-old to be given an early chance to shine.
He said: "Barry is now at a massive club and he scored with his first touch against Aberdeen, then he scored the type of goal against Barcelona that players dream about, so he has started well.
"He has got ability and a great attitude.
"I wasn't surprised to see him starting in the Champions League, because I don't think Celtic sign players not to play them."
Brewster is hoping his side will be able to put the shackles on Robson when Inverness take on Celtic at Parkhead on Wednesday in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League.
Robson's progression in recent seasons has led to the midfielder being capped for Scotland.
When asked why Robson left it late to make his mark at the highest level, Brewster believes it is because there is no set age for players to hit their peak.
He said: "Everyone matures as a player at different ages and for Barry that has happened over recent years."
