Preston boss Alan Irvine fears his side's relegation battle could go to the wire despite beating league leaders Stoke.North End recorded a fourth successive home league win against the Potters on Tuesday night, lifting them out of the drop-zone at the expense of Sheffield Wednesday.
But Irvine has warned his team their relegation woes are far from over and insists they must learn from their previous struggles and build on the victory.
He told the club's official website: "I don't expect that this is going to be over for quite a number of weeks yet, it may even go right through until the end of the season.
"We wont get carried away with it, we've had some good results but we need to build on that.
"We need to make sure that we don't do what we've done a couple of times before when we've got out of the bottom three and dropped straight back into it."
