McParland praises Gibb efforts

Manager Ian McParland believes on-loan winger Ali Gibb has been the "unsung hero" at Notts County since his move from Hartlepool last month.Gibb has made seven appearances for the Magpies since moving to Meadow Lane from Hartlepool last month, and McParland has been impressed with his efforts.

"Ali Gibb has come in and he has worked tirelessly down that right-hand side. He is an unsung hero in some respects," McParland told the club's official website.

"He gets up and down, and although he isn't a tricky wing player he doesn't half put in a shift.

"A lot of people don't see that and he has never gone into hiding when we have needed him, he always puts his head on the block."

Gibb's loan spell runs until the end of the season. He is out of contract in the summer and set to become a free agent after Hartlepool placed him on the transfer list.
