Swansea have been dealt a blow with the news that defender Marcos Painter will be out of action for at least three weeks with a torn hamstring. The 21-year-old has been a regular in Roberto Martinez's title-chasing side this season, but he limped out after just 17 minutes in the Swans' 1-0 Johnstone's Paint Trophy second leg win over MK Dons on Monday, which ended in a penalty shoot-out defeat.
"The injury is largely down to the huge number of games we have had to play in recent weeks," Swansea physio Richie Evans told the club's official website.
"There are some tired bodies in the squad."
Painter, a natural left-back, has sometimes played at centre-back, especially in the absence of the injured Dennis Lawrence.
It is likely that Kevin Austin, who replaced Painter on Monday night, will come into the Swans team for Saturday's trip to Huddersfield.
