Bristol Rovers claim they could sell 30,000 tickets for their FA Cup tie against West Brom if the Memorial Stadium had the capacity to hold it.The League One side, who are the lowest ranked team remaining in the competition, host Albion in a televised clash on March 9.
West Brom have already sold their allocation of 2,000 tickets, and Rovers are expecting to sell theirs before the weekend.
It will be a full-house at the Memorial Stadium to see Rovers contest a sixth round tie for the first time in 50 years, and only the second time in their history.
Club spokesman Steve Burns said: "All in all, I think we could have sold about 30,000 tickets if we had the capacity to fit them all in. West Brom sold out of their allocation very quickly and probably could have sold 8,000 tickets if we had been able to let them have them.
"The West Brom game is likely to be the first one we have staged at the Memorial Stadium where no tickets have been available to go on general sale. The demand has been incredible."
