Scott Carson admits he is hoping to be told soon whether Aston Villa are going to make his loan move permanent.
Villa signed Carson on a season long-loan last summer and manager Martin O'Neill has admitted he would like the 22-year-old to stay on a permanent basis.
A £10million deal has already been agreed between Villa and his parent club Liverpool - but as yet the move has not been finalised.
In the meantime, Villa have also made moves to bring in American shot-stopper Brad Guzan, although their initial attempts to sign him were thwarted by work-permit issues.
Villa remain interested in Guzan and Carson admits he is no nearer to knowing where his own future lies.
"I'm fine with Villa bringing in a keeper because I'm only here on loan," he told The Sun.
"It's not a done deal with Liverpool. Villa paid a loan fee for me and they can make it permanent any time they like.
"Hopefully I will have a good end to the season but I don't know what Villa are thinking.
"I would quite like to know what is happening but there's not a lot I can do."
