Non-Tour professionals Nic Barrow, Paul Wykes, David Singh and Del Smith took the first step on a long qualifying road for the 2010 World Championship.

The quartet came through two qualifying matches each at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield to earn spots alongside the main tour players in the first qualifying round.

Wykes's victory earned him a match against former top 16 player James Wattana, who is back on the main tour this year.

Singh will play Michael White and Smith will face Jordan Brown, while Barrow - who lost just a single frame in his two best-of-nine matches - comes up against Brendan O'Donoghue.
