Steve Brooker could make his first start for almost a year against Norwich as Gary Johnson looks to reignite Bristol City's promotion charge.Brooker, who has not started a game for City since April 4 following two knee operations, was recalled from a loan spell at Cheltenham last week after scoring five goals in six matches for the League One side.
He was denied a dream return against Cardiff when, after stepping off the substitutes bench, he had a goal ruled out for offside in the defeat at Ninian Park.
Johnson is desperately seeking a winning formula following a sequence of five games without a victory, during which City have managed only three goals.
"None of our strikers are firing at the moment. Steve Brooker got his Championship debut out of the way at Cardiff and looked good for the 20 minutes he was on the field," said Johnson. "The next step is a full Championship debut and that might not be too far away.
"He has come back from Cheltenham in good form and he deserves his place in the squad. He gives us another option and he is a scoring threat."
