Bournemouth boss Kevin Bond admits he hopes the club will only have to sell Sam Vokes "when it's right for the player and the football club".The Wales Under-21 international is reported to have attracted interest from the likes of Aston Villa and Newcastle this season after netting eight times in the last 12 games and with the club strapped for clash he has been tipped to leave the club sooner rather than later.
Bond admitted he would be disappointed if interest in the striker fails to grow - as it means his form will have faded - and revealed he still hopes to hold onto the youngster for "a while yet".
"There'll be something wrong with Sam's development if he doesn't attract further interest," Bond told the club's official website.
"We all hope he progresses as he has done and he goes on to be a really good player and a player Bournemouth find it difficult to hang onto.
"We hope it won't be for a while yet and that he'll be worth a few quid. A club like Bournemouth will always find it difficult to hold on to players worth hundreds of thousands of pounds. That's the way it is but hopefully it'll only be done when it's right for the player and the football club."
