Determined Hurst on comeback trail

Thu 27 Mar, 06:30 PM

Scunthorpe striker Kevan Hurst is targeting a return to the Iron first team after his impressive display for the reserves in midweek.Hurst has found first-team opportunities hard to come by at Glanford Park so far this season and has not started a game for Nigel Adkins' side since February's home defeat to Bristol City.

The 22-year-old turned in a solid performance, scoring both goals in the 2-1 reserve win and is now setting his sights firmly on a place in the Scunthorpe starting line-up, starting with Saturday's trip to Leicester.

"I don't want to be playing in the reserves, I want to be in the first team," he told the Scunthorpe Telegraph.

"If I don't get in the squad for Saturday then I'll play again and keep on pushing until I do get in the first team. It hard when you are down in the dumps but its all about attitude."
