Northampton manager Stuart Gray is hoping to add a defender to his injury-hit squad before the transfer deadline on Thursday afternoon.Gray has just two centre-backs available to face Cheltenham on Saturday after Gabor Gyepes and Mark Hughes joined hamstring victims Brett Johnson and Chris Doig on the sidelines.
Gray said: "People said to me that I've got a lot of defenders here but suddenly we're down to our last four.
"I'm trying to get one in on loan before the deadline and I'm just waiting on a decision.
"The physios tell me that Gabor has got a grade two hamstring strain which is going to be two weeks and Hughes' thigh has caused us a little bit of a problem.
"We are trying to draw blood off the thigh at the minute and it could be another week at least. The worrying thing is that it started off as just a dead leg and suddenly we're in this situation."
