Vale boss issues rallying cry

Thu 27 Mar, 07:15 PM

Lee Sinnott has called on Port Vale's young players to "grab" the opportunities that may come their way between now and the end of the season. With his side's relegation to League Two effectively guaranteed, manager Sinnott has hinted at giving a chance to some of the club's youth team - and he revealed performances could also determine who remains at Vale Park next season.

He told the club's official website: "It's the same for any player, if you get an opportunity you've got to take it.

"That is the game that we are in, that is the business that we are in. It can be ruthless, it can be unkind.

"If you get an opportunity you have to go out and grab it because otherwise somebody else will and that's what we will be looking to do.

"We will be looking at a couple of options - obviously thinking about squad size and personnel for next season."
