Hartlepool boss Danny Wilson has hailed former loanee Darryl Duffy as the Swansea striker prepares to return to Victoria Park.The 23-year-old scored five goals in 10 appearances for Pools last season while on loan from Hull, and on Saturday could feature for the Swans.

Wilson has made no secret of his desire to re-sign Duffy - who has scored two goals this season - but has so far been scuppered in his attempts.

"Darryl is a very good player," said Wilson. "We have tried to get him a couple of times, but we have not been able to.

"We are always interested in good players. Whether we can get them or not is another matter.

"He played very well for us in that loan spell and we know he is a threat."
