Starzaan could be seen in action at Aintree on Friday week as Hughie Morrison considers his options with the talented nine-year-old.
After winning his first two novice chases this season by an aggregate of 39 lengths, the gelding was pulled up behind Albertas Run in the Royal & SunAlliance Chase at Cheltenham.
However, Morrison feels conditions were not to Starzaan's liking on that occasion and is considering the John Smith's Mildmay Novices' Chase as his next port of call.
"He came back fine and I just think there were a number of things at play," Morrison reflected.
"I don't think he likes Cheltenham, he's never run well there, and he didn't like the watered ground, which was very dead.
"He just came back a little bit flat really but we're toying with the idea of going to Liverpool with him at the end of next week.
"If we miss that, we could end up going to Ayr (for the Ashleybank Investments Future Champion Novices' Chase on April 19).
"Ideally, I think he wants an extended two and a half miles but we might try him over three again at Aintree.
"He ran his best ever race there in the past."
