Reading striker Leroy Lita has extended his loan deal with Championship side Charlton until the end of the season.

The former England Under-21 international joined the Addicks on an initial month-long deal at the beginning of the month but Lita's impressive performances since arriving at the Valley have convinced boss Alan Pardew to hold on to him.

Lita is yet to open his account for Charlton, but he will have plenty of opportunities to do so before the end of the season, as Pardew's side push for promotion via a place in the play-offs.

Despite having starred in Reading's first season in the Premier League last year, he has since dropped down the pecking order after picking up a freak injury at the beginning of the current campaign.

And with Royals boss Steve Coppell preferring Dave Kitson, Kevin Doyle and Shane Long to Lita, the 23-year-old sealed a temporary switch to Charlton to see more playing time.

Lita is now likely to lead the Addicks' line against Wolves on Saturday.
