Tina Bachmann recorded a sensational victory in just her third World Cup start as she won the 7.5km sprint in Khanty-Mansiysk, Siberia.

Bachmann held off German compatriot Simone Hauswald, crossing the line in 20 minutes 49.8 seconds, 3.7 seconds quicker than her team-mate who also shot clear.

Sweden's Helena Jonsson (pictured) only finished 19th but that was enough for her to win the globe for the sprint discipline.

But her overall lead was cut to just 11 points over Germany's Kati Wilhelm, who was 20th, as she had 12 points to discard for her worst performance of the season.

Tora Berger, Magdalena Neuner and Olga Zaytseva can all still win the Crystal Globe with two races remaining this weekend.
