Ferguson promises promotion party

Sun 27 Apr, 03:45 PM

Peterborough manager Darren Ferguson has promised "a bit of a party" when his side complete their promotion-winning season at home next week. However, Ferguson admitted Posh took some time to get going against the Mariners despite goals from Aaron Mclean, Craig Mackail-Smith and Scott Rendell sealing an impressive 4-1 victory.

"The first 25 minutes was nowhere near the tempo that I wanted. But in the last 20 minutes of the first half and the whole of the second half they were magnificent, there were some really good goals." he added.

"The shackles are off, we are up, let's remind ourselves how we got there and I think some of the stuff in the second half was not League Two stuff.

"I am really proud of them. They kept focussed and their concentration was good.

"And the fans were magnificent. There will be a bit of a party next week when we are expecting over 12,000 and hopefully we can show our appreciation with a performance."
