Furious Gray to ring the changes

Sun 27 Apr, 06:30 PM

Northampton boss Stuart Gray felt some of his players performed as though their season had already ended at Port Vale and has promised changes. The Cobblers threw away a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 at Vale Park, to a team already destined for League Two next season.

Gray said: "I've told the players our season finishes next week and not before. Some of them showed Port Vale too much disrespect.

"There will be changes for our last game and I'll be demanding a much better performance than that.

"On the balance of play we didn't deserve to go two goals up but having done so we should have gone on and won.

"To be fair to Port Vale they played well, but our defending, particularly from corners, was just not the way we do things. We usually defend dead-ball situations well."
