Stockport boss Jim Gannon hit out at Barnet after the club's stadium announcer interrupted play to reveal that Hereford were beating Brentford.Gannon's charges needed a win to keep their hopes of finishing third alive but were on level terms in the 38th minute when the announcer informed Underhill that Stockport's automatic promotion hopes were hanging by a thread.
Barnet went on to dash County's chances following second-half goals from Jason Puncheon and Cliff Akurang, leaving Gannon to berate the north London club.
"It was unprofessional of Barnet," he said. "They are celebrating a season of mediocrity if the highlight of their season is gloating about the demise of others. But there is nothing we can do.
"We are wasting our time complaining about it but that is the sort of thing you don't want to see and the announcers shouldn't get involved in. I think it is incredible but I am getting used to it and hardened to it.
"It didn't affect the players' psychology as the bottom line is you have to defend well and be strong and play good football and we didn't do enough of that. It is a sad day but we will move on."
