Southampton defender Gregory Vignal and Alexander Ostlund could return to the Saints squad for Monday night's crucial trip to West Brom.The full-backs have been sidelined with hamstring injuries but Ostlund played for the reserves in midweek while Vignal is also back in training.

Makeshift defenders Jermaine Wright and Andrew Surman could therefore return to the midfield, although both have performed well at the back to give manager Nigel Pearson a selection dilemma.

Winger Nathan Dyer also played for the reserves as he builds up his fitness after a long lay-off following ankle surgery and will push for a start.

Centre-half and player of the year Andrew Davies is Saints' only injury absentee with the fractured cheekbone which ruled him out for the season.
