Southend boss Steve Tilson was not too downhearted after his side's first defeat in 14 matches at Tranmere and wants to focus on the play-offs.Antony Kay's second-half goal gave Rovers a 1-0 win which ensured they at least sent their fans away happy despite missing out on a play-off berth.
Defeat for the Shrimpers ended their slim hopes of automatic promotion and Tilson is now focused on the play-offs.
He said: "The run had to come to an end sometime and I rather it came now than in the play-offs.
"The pitch was not very good and there were not many chances but we conceded a poor goal.
"I can't be too hard on the lads. We have gone through a fantastic period. It's all about the play-offs now. We have got to take the defeat on the chin and bounce back straight away."
