Luxembourg champion Frank Schleck of Saxo Bank has been confirmed by his team as a starter for the Liege-Bastogne-Liege one-day classic on Sunday.

Schleck suffered a nasty crash early in last weekend'd first race of the three Ardennes classics at the Amstel Gold and had been uncertain for Sunday's 261km epic having missed the Fleche Wallonne in midweek.

At the Fleche, Schleck's younger brother Andy, also of Saxo Bank, took second place behind on-form Italian veteran Davide Rebellin.

It means Saxo Bank can look forward to having two potential winners at Liege on Sunday. Frank finished third last year as Spaniard Alejandro Valverde claimed his second victory while Andy finished fourth.

Liege-Bastogne-Liege's first edition was in 1892, and the race is the oldest one-dayer in existence, hence its nickname 'La Doyenne'.
