Burnley manager Owen Coyle has confirmed he has made an improved offer for Scunthorpe striker Martin Paterson.Paterson is one of Coyle's top transfer targets after scoring 14 goals for the relegated Iron in the Championship last season, and after an initial bid was rejected, Coyle has now returned with an improved offer.
Coyle told the club's official website: "Suffice to say we have moved things on with different people. A couple of things have progressed.
"We have made an improved offer for Martin Paterson and we await Scunthorpe's reply."
