Stockport's rising stars Liam Dickinson and Anthony Pilkington have assured manager Jim Gannon they are going nowhere after gaining promotion.Teenager Pilkington's fine instinctive header and Dickinson's low, arrowed finish capped a thrilling 3-2 League Two play-off final win over Rochdale at Wembley and helped County secure their first promotion in 11 years.

"Two years ago I was working for a graphics company. I just did a bit of photo-copying really, nothing too important," said Dickinson. "But I was also playing semi-professional for Woodley Sports and two-and-a-half years on I'm scoring for the winning side at Wembley. It's a dream come true.

"I thought my chance had gone. I was wishing I had done things differently and had tried harder, but I got a second chance and not many people do and I seized it with both hands.

"A lot of people are asking: 'Are you staying at Stockport next season?'. Well I've signed another two-year contract and obviously I want to play higher, but I want to play higher with Stockport."

Pilkington, 19, added: "For all the lads, their footballing ability is way beyond their natural age. I definitely want to stay next season. To be honest the gaffer's on about going up into the Championship and let's hope we can do it with Stockport."
