West Brom boss Tony Mowbray has backed Albion midfielder James Morrison to become a Scotland regular under George Burley.Morrison is in line to make his international debut in Friday's friendly against the Czech Republic.
He was selected in the squad for last August's game against South Africa but was forced to withdraw through injury.
Morrison played a critical role in Albion's Championship triumph and Mowbray believes his player has the ability to cope on the international stage.
"It is good for James. I have had a few conversations with (Scotland manager) George Burley and it is good that James gets his Scotland career up and running," Mowbray told the Daily Record. "He has threatened to get started a couple of times over the last year but injuries knocked him back.
"It is important for him to get up and running in the Scotland set-up. It will do him no harm to be in the squad and hopefully he will be in it for a long time. That would be a boost for him."
