Out-of-contract Bournemouth striker Brett Pitman has revealed that he is on the verge of accepting the club's offer of a new deal.Pitman was one of eight Cherries players, including Darren Anderton, Lee Bradbury and Danny Hollands, to be offered fresh terms earlier this month and is set to commit his future to the club.
"We're still sorting out a few minor things but I was reasonably happy with the offer and wouldn't be a million miles away from signing," Pitman told the Bournemouth Echo.
"I felt I did reasonably well last term, especially towards the end of the season. I set up a few goals and scored a couple myself so I was reasonably confident I would get an offer.
"I scored seven goals in 17 starts, which isn't too bad, and set up a few important goals. I was happy but hopefully there will be more next season.
"I would like to have been a more regular starter but I've made 100 appearances so can't be too unhappy with that."
