Carlisle boss John Ward has not given up hope of re-signing Barnsley defender Paul Reid this summer after a injury hit loan spell at the club.Reid, who started his career at Brunton Park, rejoined the Blues on loan at the end of last season, but an ankle injury restricted him to just one appearance.
The 26-year-old is now back at Oakwell but Ward is still monitoring Reid's availability.
"Paul is a player we are following but while he is contracted to Barnsley they hold the important cards," said Ward.
"If he was to be released to their mutual agreement, we will look at it.
"It's up to Barnsley really what happens now."
