It's here! With this summer's European Championship nearly upon us, it is time to pick a squad of superstars to take on the rest of Europe in our exclusive, entirely free Fantasy Football game.
How the game works
Those of you who are veterans of our Premier League and Champions League games need no explanation as to how the game works, but for those not so familiar with the rules, here is a basic guide.
This time round, the generous folk at Yahoo! Eurosport have decided to give each entrant into the game a virtual budget of 200 million euros to spend. You choose who you pick for your squad, your team name and which league you play in. Each player picked then earns points for your team according to his performances on the pitches in Austria and Switzerland. It's as simple as that.
Your team
You must pick at least 14 players in your squad, with a limit set at a maximum of 21 players. You can make transfers in and out of your squad at any time during the tournament and your team line-up can be changed any time up to 15 minutes before kick-off. This flexible approach means you can react to injuries, suspensions and form.
The role of substitutes is an important one - they come into play when one of your chosen first XI fails to pick up any points (through a last minute drop-out or an early injury for example).
Depending on who you think will pick up points, you can change the formation of your team at any time, up until 15 minutes before the start of a game. Choose from four different formations (4-4-3, 4-3-3, 3-5-2 or 4-4-2) to best reflect your style of play.
You must choose a captain to lead your side - he is crucial to the success of your side as he picks up double points. Don't forget, the armband can be shared around, Fabio-Capello style, throughout the tournament.
Transfers
Transfers can be made whenever you like during the tournament and as many times as you like, as long as you do not exceed the 200 million euro budget. Players' values will not change during the tournament.
How the points system works
There are many ways to accumulate points - goals scored and conceded, fouls won and committed, assists, crosses, passes to name just a few. To see a full list of how to win points, click on the link below the photo and scroll down to the section titled 'Score'.
What else?
Not a lot, it's a simple game. Just remember time is running out - there are just 10 days to go before the big kick-off in Austria and Switzerland.
