Roberto Mancini, linked with the Chelsea manager's job, is on the verge of leaving Italian champions Internazionale according to his agent.

The Italian coach was called into a meeting with Nerazzurri president Massimo Moratti on Tuesday to discuss his future at the club - and emerged from their Via Durini offices just 25 minutes later.

And agent Giorgio De Giorgis - also a good friend of Mancini's - claims the short talks signal the end of Mancini's reign at the Giuseppe Meazza.

De Giorgis told La Gazzetta dello Sport: "Is it finished? More or less, it seems to be, but I don't have any confirmation."

Mancini had signalled his intention to leave Inter at the end of the season following the club's exit from the Champions League at the hands of Chelsea back in March.

He quickly changed that decision, although rumours persisted that he would leave this summer, even after he had secured a third straight Scudetto for the club.

If and when his exit from Inter is confirmed, focus will turn to what he does next, with Chelsea reportedly interested in the former Italy international taking charge at Stamford Bridge.

The Chelsea hot-seat is vacant after Avram Grant was sacked in the wake of their Champions League final defeat to Manchester United.

Mancini is by no means the only candidate for the job, with Sven-Goran Eriksson, Guus Hiddink and Frank Rijkaard among the names linked to the vacancy, but his impending exit from Inter is sure to shorten the odds on him plying his trade in the Premier League come the start of next season.
