Brazilian forward Maicosuel Reginaldo (Botafogo), defender Christian Eichner (Karlsruhe) and keeper Jens Grahl (Greuther Furth) have joined the club.

Promoted Hoffenheim were the surprise package during the first half of their debut campaign in the top flight when they finished as shock winter champions.

But after top-scorer Vedad Ibisevic suffered a season-ending injury, they tailed off dramatically and finished mid-table.

"I am looking forward to Germany and Hoffenheim and meeting my Brazilian team-mates," Maicosuel (pictured), 22, told the club website after completing a £4.5 million deal.

"I have informed myself at great depth about Hoffenheim and the Bundesliga is shown on Brazilian television.

"I think I will settle in quickly and am looking forward to the first training sessions."

Local boy Eichner, 26, arrived from relegated Karlsruhe and is happy to be back playing in his home region.

"Of course I am relieved to still be able to play in the Bundesliga," he said. "I have a lot to thank Karlsruhe for and I will maintain the best memories of my time there.

"At the same time, I am obviously delighted to be able to play in my home region and, above all, my birth town of Sinsheim and I hope I can make my contribution to a successful season."

Grahl joined to be third choice keeper behind Timo Hildebrand and Daniel Haas, whose contract was extended.
