Slaven Bilic would welcome talks with Celtic over becoming Gordon Strachan's successor as manager, according to his agent Rudi Vata.
Bilic is still under contract with the Croatia national team but former Hoops defender Vata has revealed the ex-Everton and West Ham centre-back is looking for a new challenge.
"Slaven is certainly available to talk to Celtic but we have not heard anything," Vata told BBC Scotland.
"He would be keen for a new challenge and is well aware of the club and the passion of its supporters.
"He thinks he could take Celtic to the next level. We will wait and see."

HAIGY - I'd hardly call season 2008-09 a ROMP!! If it was a romp, as you suggest, then there would have been no need for the services of a helicopter to deliver the trophy! BTW: Look after it well - we'll be back to collect it next May!
TO ALL YOU TIMS WHOS LAUGHING NOW EH YOU GOBSHITES BOUT 4IN A ROW AND BILIC FRANKLY WHO CARES RANGERS TO ROMP TO THE TITLE 52 AND COUNTING 2ND TO THE RANGERS IN THE LEAGUE IN TROPHY COUNT AND OVERALL IN CLASS
2nd placed again hahahahahahahahaha now a 2nd choice manager hahahahahahahahahaha
Another 2nd choice for a 2nd place team hahahahahahahahahahahahaha
As Ginger said, I heard that Lawwell met with Coyle down here a few days ago...I think of all that has been mentioned - Aboot 10 in only 2 days!! - Then Bilic a think has the class that will take us forward. It's not that I'm slating Owen Coyle or Davie Moyes (the other 2 mentioned that I would not be adversed to seeing in place), but Slavan Bilic has the credentials to attract a better standard of player from Europe; just look at when Jo Venglos was in place and attracted wee Lubo in. There's some good Croatian players out there who probably jump at the chance to come to Celtic...Just hope the Board don't have a knee jerk reaction and panic to get someone in.
Nae harm tae Mark McGhee or Tony Mowbray but they simply haven't proven it at a higher level...Got to have more ambition than winning cups in Scotland. Come on Board - Bilic, Hiddink, Hodgson or Moyes - Or someone of that Ilk
Good old Rudi Vata eh...! Well
McGhee, Mobray, Lambert, Coyle, Aitken, Grant, Bilic
Yip i would take Bilic every time mabe not the safe option but who wants the safe option?, not very exciting. Bilic is probably overrated but would be interesting to find out if he is a master manager.
If you speak to Rangers fans, I mean the real rangers football fans and not the usual scum bags you get on this page, even they would say Bilic would be a class act. Even if we only have him for three seasons that would be enough to re establish the reputation of Scottish football worldwide.
IF BILIC WANTS TO COME HERE WE NEED TO BURST THE BANK TO GET HIM. This man would bring class players not only to Celtic but to Scottish football.
Scottish footy needs this bloke. And we deserve him!
IT WILL BE A CHEAP BUM BAG JOCK MANAGER WHO WILL BE THE NEW BOSS LIKE LEVEIN OR MCGHEE A BISCIUT TIN MANAGER FOR A BISCIUT TIN CLUB/ENGLISH SAM
On his way to Sunderland!!! We will give him £££££££££ to spend thanks to Ellis Short's backing. This will take us forward. We also have great fans, Premier League (sorry Newcastle) no only kidding!!
Be careful what you wish for remember Paul Le Guen at Rangers he was a huge success Nooot
Pt16...Owen Coyle knows that the Celtic job will only be offered to him once...that will be the issue that will be giving him sleepless nights.....give me Bilic or Moyes 1st
Pt15...sorry mate....we need Bilic...left back center forward and a new captain....
go bilic
11-Not far off mate.
Bilic was on around 45,000 a year ago and i believe around 90,000 now so yes money will not be an issue.
Pardon me, "to come to a club which will have a lower budget than Celtic" should have been to come "to a club which will have a lower budget than Burnley" :)
scott put the buckie doon pmsl
PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE GET BILIC!!!!!!!!!!!
We need someone with his type of passion for the game.
He even stated last year he would love to manage Celtic.
He loves us, mind you, who doesn't? haha.
I'm not so sure if coyle would want to leave after just leading Burnley into the Premier league for the 1st time in 30 odd years to come to a club which will have a lower budget than Celtic, even if we are guarenteed 2 games of euro football this season.
I say we bring back Dr Jo Venglos hahaha
nope, airdrie
