Laszlo ponders move for Ross

Wed 27 May, 01:35 PM

Hearts boss Csaba Laszlo has confirmed his interest in former Scotland and Rangers right-back Maurice Ross.

Ross, 28, is without a club after being released by Turkish side Kocaelispor.

Laszlo said in the Edinburgh Evening News: "This name is on our list, definitely, but we don't have any decision. Maurice has good experience and sometimes you cannot buy this with money."

He added: "His biggest plus is his experience but we can't forget that we have some very good young players on the right side."

Laszlo has also advised Hearts owner Vladimir Romanov to re-sign Polish midfielder Adrian Mrowiec.

Mrowiec, 25, is now a free agent after his loan from FBK Kaunas expired, while his contract in Lithuania is expected to be declared null and void as Kaunas are playing in the amateur third division and unable to hold players to professional agreements.

Laszlo has already lost some key men this year and believes Mrowiec offers reliable cover in several positions.

"Especially in this situation where we lose many players, I don't like to lose Adrian," the Hungarian said.

"He is a player who can play in two or three different positions. If it's necessary, he can even play in central defence. I spoke with Mr Romanov and I think Adrian will be staying with us."
