Macclesfield have confirmed that they are in talks to sign full-back Carl Tremarco from Wrexham.

Manager Keith Alexander made a move for the former Tranmere defender and chief executive Patrick Nelson is confident of securing the player.

Nelson told the club's official website: "Carl is a player Keith has identified and wants to bring to the club.

"Talks are ongoing but there are still a few contractual things he needs to sort out with Wrexham before he can put pen to paper here.

"We hope that this will be sorted out quickly and we will be able to unveil him as a Macclesfield Town player by the end of the week."
