Wolves have finally completed the £1million signing of midfielder David Jones from Championship rivals Derby on a three-year contract. The 23-year-old has long been linked with a move to Molineux and boss Mick McCarthy sees him as an integral part of the club's challenge for promotion to the Premier League.
The left-sided midfielder, who has signed up until 2011, came through the ranks at Manchester United before loan spells at Preston, NEC Nijmegen and Derby raised his already impressive profile.
Jones then made his move to Pride Park permanently, scoring seven goals in 47 appearances before his switch to Wolves.
Derby boss Paul Jewell said: "David is a cracking lad and has done very well for this football club, but it's a change which is another part of the re-building process here at Derby County.
"My focus is on continuing to reshape the squad for the challenge of a promotion battle this coming season."
Jones becomes Wolves' third signing of the summer following the arrivals of fellow rising stars Sam Vokes and Richard Stearman.
