Lehmann happy to represent Arsenal

Germany's Jens Lehmann says he is happy to represent Arsenal in the Euro 2008 final despite his "difficult" relationship with Arsene Wenger.The 38-year-old is poised to join Bundesliga club Stuttgart after barely featuring under the Frenchman during the last campaign, with Manuel Almunia favoured in the Gunners goal.

Despite some less-than-polished performances for his country during the tournament, Lehmann is set to face Spain in this weekend's showpiece and he admits his moment in the spotlight has come as a relief after his Emirates Stadium nightmare.

"It's a great end to a tough year and it would mean a lot to win it because in the end my difficult season was down to my club manager," the German said.

"We have had some discussion about that and I always told him what I was thinking about his decision.

"But I'm quite proud to represent Arsenal in Sunday's final."

  3. history is about to repeat itself. who remember 2002?? the yr Leverkusen with talented guys like Micheal Ballack,Basturk & others almost dominated europe.unfortunately for them,they lost the CL final to Real Madrid,lost the German cup to Bayern Munchen,the German league to Bayern Munchen on the final day of play.

    2008,Ballack lost the CL,the Premiere league on the last day,the Carling Cup & the worst of all he would lose the Euro too! oh poor guy...
