Andrei Arshavin's agent insists he has not yet received any offers for the Russia playmaker - but has invited Barcelona to make an approach. The 27-year-old, a target for Newcastle, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City, has been one of the stars of Euro 2008 with Russia and has been heavily linked with a move to one of Europe's top leagues.
Zenit St Petersburg confirmed on Thursday that Barcelona have made an enquiry, and Arshavin's representative, Dennis Lachter, has urged the Catalans to turn their interest into a firm offer.
"I'd like to send my regards to (Barca president Joan) Laporta, (technical secretary) Txiki (Begiristain) and (coach) Pep (Guardiola) and they already know why," he told Spanish radio station Radio Marca.
"Laporta and Barca have not approached me. They now know who Arshavin's agent is and I'm ready to listen to offers, but at the moment there are none."
Arshavin's adventure at the European Championships came to an end on Thursday following a 3-0 semi-final loss to Spain.
Lachter now expects the offers to come flooding in, but admits his client's starring role in Russia's unlikely run means it is difficult to put a price on him.
"After the game I know I'm going to receive a lot of offers for him," he said.
"What's for sure is that we can't talk about his price, but we hope that it'll be to the liking of the club and the player."
An inflated price tage could be a stumbling block for Barca, who have spent heavily this summer to bring in Gerard Pique, Martin Caceres, Seydou Keita and Daniel Alves.
However, Lachter believes that sporting rather than economic factors will decide where Arshavin plays.
"When he was a kid he really liked Barca, it's true," he added.
"He's a big fan of the team and if he signed for Barcelona it really would be a dream come true for him.
"Either way, whatever is certain is that he won't be wearing the Zenit shirt next season."

arshavin is a good player and this doesnt mean his careers ending, hes had bad times and just as mrpez said every dog has his day
Arshavin is a great player. Im from russia so I can see him play on weekly basis. There are lot of reasons why no one knew about him and I dont whant to type about it now. He is not Pele or Kaka but I think he can play on the level of average top club level players. like Galas, Gigs, Cole and ect.
There will not be an offer for Arshavin from Barcelona. It's obvious it's just a tactic used by spain to unsettle the player before the spain v russia game - and it god damn sure did work, you didn't see him in the game.
The only reason there was speculation over Barcelona making an enquiry was because arshavin said his childhood dream club was barca in an invterview prior to the semi-final match.
infotrone, No it doesn't make them bad players, just Arshavin nothing special. People have been raving about how good Arshavin is when frankly if he was THAT good he would have been picked up earlier in his career, granted at 27 he is not old, hell i am older than that but i don't think he is great 2 good games does not make the second coming of Pele.
Ballack is a damn fine player i just don't feel that has been a great tournement for him especially in the match against a Turkish team with 9 of thier first squad not playing, he should have capitalised and used that to his advantage but he didn't, possibly he had a bad day. The reference to Ballack was made due to Arshavin being as useful in the match for Russia last night as Ballack was against Turkey.
mrpez, So does this mean that Arshavin and Ballack are bad players? Arshavin just had bad game just like most of great footballers on this EURO.
every dog has his day, i don't think as the result of 2 good performances that many teams will be banging on this 27 year olds door. Where was he last night? almost as invisible as Ballack against Turkey. Thats just my opinion
