Simpson stumped in Coughlan bid

Fri 27 Jun, 05:15 PM

Shrewsbury manager Paul Simpson has revealed his efforts to sign defender Graham Coughlan from Rotherham have "hit a brick wall".Simpson is keen to add the Rotherham captain, 33, to his ranks having snapped up Grant Holt and Michael Jackson earlier this week.

And while Millers manager Mark Robins admits a cash bid has been made, matters have not progressed much further.

"I wouldn't say it was totally dead but it has been dragging on for a long time, probably five or six weeks, and we seem to have hit a brick wall," Simpson told the Shropshire Star.
