Croatia defender Josip Simunic claims he is close to sealing a move to Fulham after admitting he has "great respect" for the Cottagers. The Hertha Berlin star is thought to be keen on leaving Germany for England and the Cottagers could be ready to offer him the chance to play in the Premier League.
The 30-year-old, who was infamously shown three yellow cards by referee Graham Poll at the 2006 World Cup, believes his future will be resolved in the next few weeks and is confident of agreeing a deal with Fulham.
"I'm sure we can work something out with Fulham," Simunic told the Daily Express.
"They're a huge club, I've the greatest respect for them.
"But right now, I need a break from all things football. All will be clear in the next couple of weeks."
