Wycombe manager Peter Taylor is keen for the club to improve its scouting network in the local area in order not to miss out on good players. The likes of Fitz Hall, Wayne Andrews, DJ Campbell and Tresor Kandol have all left nearby Chesham in recent years for other clubs and Taylor believes the Chairboys should have been in the hunt for those players.
Hall, Andrews and Campbell have all gone on to play in the Premier League, while Kandol is now at Leeds and Taylor admits it is not good enough for the club to miss out.
"The scouting system here hasn't been good enough. I don't think we've invested as much as we should but Steve Hayes and the board are telling me that there is going to be a bit more available," Taylor told Bucks Free Press.
"I've met some of the scouts who have done brilliantly here but I'm trying to get them a bit more help. I want more people and will probably be looking to try and get one head of the department and making sure that we have a plan.
"The people who have done the scouting here have worked their socks off but they need more eyes and we need to do it in a planned way to give ourselves more of a chance."
