Germany goalkeeper Jens Lehmann insists he is happy to represent Arsenal in Sunday's Euro 2008 final despite his "difficult" relationship with manager Arsene Wenger last season.
The 38-year-old is poised to join Bundesliga club Stuttgart after barely featuring under the Frenchman during the last campaign, with Manuel Almunia favoured in the Gunners goal.
Despite some less-than-polished performances for his country during the tournament, Lehmann is set to face Spain in this weekend's showpiece and he admits his moment in the spotlight has come as a relief after his Emirates Stadium nightmare.
"It's a great end to a tough year and it would mean a lot to win it because in the end my difficult season was down to my club manager," the German said.
"We have had some discussion about that and I always told him what I was thinking about his decision.
"But I'm quite proud to represent Arsenal in Sunday's final."

I think Lehman was at a point pretty decent as a goalkeeper but he started losing when he got dirty and egoistic with Khan over the German No.1 shirt.
The arrogance crept into his game having had burst ups with opponents and team mates alike!
I guess the saying "pride comes before a fall is true".
Lehman, here is wishing you all the best in the EURO CUP FINAL and subsequently the BUNDESLIGA.
lehman do u think we will allow u to gift clubs at our own detriment.pls grow-up.thanks for ur services anyway.
I never liked Lehmann, and im glad hes going to the bundes liga, but i dont think that he let us down in the cl final. He gave them a freekick and they didnt score, it was almunias fault, he let the ball pass between his legs!!!!!
Lehman or Layman or Lame man or whatever %$£&% ing man he calls himself, bye bye and hope we don't see you near London again
until he moves after the euros, lehman is still an Arsenal player, that's why he said that. I for 1 am glad to see him go because i personally want to see him crash and burn next season. The way some of the other players have talked about Arsene and the way he plays football ie:- Ljungberg, Flamini, now Lehman... These are all disgruntled players who feeel hard done by, They have to remember, Freddie you lost at least 3 yards of pace and couldn't hit the side of a barn in your last season. Flamini reckons he should've had a contract before last season, but he forgets he was almost sold mid-season 2 yrs ago because he got lazy and had some poor performances before being brought in to cover for clichy (which i think he did quite well), so maybe he might have had a reason to stay, maybe. If these players were at liverpool or chelski they would only have played half of the games they did too with their rotational. As for Jens hahaha always a clown in goals, always wanted someone else to take the blame for him when he was just a mediocre goalkeeper it was what was in front of him made him look good. So glad Almunia waited and bided his time i think he's a better shotstopper than lens but needs to concentrate a bit more. We do need to strengthen our defence though a few holes getting bigger and bigger back there, i don't think young hoyte and traore are gonna fit the bill somehow they lack a bit of the grit and determination that Mr Wenger likes. Good luck spain in finals. Goodbye Jens hope your new team is as @#$% as you and you get dropped after 4-5 games.
Re: Turkey's 2nd Goal
More keepers should wait for the ball instead of moving towards it... Congratulations Lehman...
In the end - His @#$% season was down to his @#$% performances not Wenger...
..and lets not forget how wonderful mr lehman let us down in the CL final too. Good riddance.
Every post before this one is correct
Did you see turkeys second goal against Germany? That is Jens 4 u. He cannot blame anybody 4 his woes. When he was better, Alumunia neva complained, and Wenger was his good coach, he lost form and Wenger is now the witch hunting him. Could someone tell Jens to brace up and stop apportioning blame and biting the finger that has feed him.
Before talking of being sidelined, Lehman should recall his shoddy performance that cost us points at Blackburn Rovers and other matches when he was between the sticks last season; he should be charitable of what Arsenal did for him. By the way he stands corrected Cesc Fabregas is representing Arsenal (and Creditably too) on Sunday and not Jens.

Fabregas will represent arsenal not Lehmann
Lehman should shut up and consider himself lucky to be between the sticks for Germany. Arsenal and Wenger's inventive play probably prevented evrybody from finding out how really bad a goalkeeper he is. Hopefully, by playing in the physically and technically challenging Bundesliga, he will now be exposed for the has-been that he really is.
